Trubyville Roving Reporter - Brenden #9
December 5, 2008
Whew, finally it's Friday!! This is Brenden reporting for Mrs. T's class on a crazy Friday. Following are the things we did and the things that happened on this crazy day.
First, I got to school and sat down in the gym, waiting for school to start. Aeron and I talked. Then, you could hear a cell phone ring tone. It was Mr. Dary's! That meant to stand up for music practice. "Holiday Lights" was one of the songs we sang. Then we went up to our class room. I walked in and sat down at my desk. Mrs.T handed out a mystery color grid for us to work on. Then, the announcements came on and we said The Pledge of Allegiance. After most students finished the mystery worksheet, we took our spelling test. Next, we went to P.E. for 30 minutes. Eventually, we went to computer class where we did a boring school survey. It took up most of our class time.
By then, it was lunch time. We had corn dogs and macaroni and cheese. Yum! When we were done, we went outside for recess. Although it was nice, it was pretty windy!
After recess was over we had "Stuff The Bus." This is where we bring toys, clothes, and food and put the items on a bus which takes the items to unfortunate people. We collected lots of stuff and it feels good to help others!
Band time was next. I play the clarinet. Last night we had our first band concert and it was great! It was fun to perform in front of an audience for the first time. When, we got to band class, Mr. Clements said, "You kids did an awesome job last night at the concert." All of our parents thought it was awesome too. Then, we did our warm ups and daily songs.
After that, we came back and went directly to Spanish. In Spanish we copied facts about different countries that speak Spanish from a book. Argentina, for example, was one of the countries. When we came back, we didn't have time to do D.O.L. which is where Mrs. T has some sentences for us to correct and write. We would have to tackle that on Monday.
Then, at 2:45 we did Pay Day which is where we count up all our A+'s and we get coupons for them. Coupons are pieces of paper that we can buy candy, homework passes and cans of pop with. Oh, and we can also use them to buy lunch with the teacher.
Finally at 3:10 we packed up our bags and were ready to go home. It had been a really busy day but it went really fast. That was our crazy Friday!!
